The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) respects the privacy of its members. To protect that privacy, the NRC has implemented the following policy.
What Information Do We Collect?
Most information that the NRC collects is used only to help NRC better serve its members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by notice in our newsletters or by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the NRC Web site.
Disclosures to Third Parties
The NRC does not disclose contact information of members who expressly direct the NRC to keep their contact information confidential. Members may request NRC to refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the NRC and/or affiliated recycling organization membership application form, on conference registration forms, or any other form on which they are providing information. The NRC and its affiliated recycling organizations will provide an opt-out box on any form on which a user provides information. Alternatively, members may contact the NRC at membership@nrc-recycle.org or (202) 789-1430 to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have their information shared.
Further, the NRC does not disclose member contact information to third parties except in circumstances where the third party is providing a service or benefit to the NRC and/or its members that has been authorized by the NRC. Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
• Providing NRC's membership mailing list to trade publications with which the NRC has negotiated a special subscription discount for its members
• Listing member contact information in directories published by or for the NRC that may be sold to requestors
• Providing contact information of those who register for NRC conferences and workshops to sponsors, exhibitors and attendees of those events.
Under no circumstances does the NRC disclose the contact information of members from one affiliated recycling organization to any other affiliated recycling organization.
Credit Card Account Information
The NRC does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, NRC submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
What Means Of Redress Are Available?
If any member or customer suspects that the NRC has handled its personal information in a manner that does not comply with this privacy statement, please contact us by e-mailing to ahoverman@nrc-recycle.org or by calling (202) 789-1430.
